At SafeTurn, we understand that learning to drive can feel overwhelming, especially if you’ve had little or no experience behind the wheel. Our certified MTO instructors are patient, supportive, and trained to work at your pace.
We start in a calm, low-stress environment — often in a quiet parking lot — so you can get comfortable with the basics before moving onto busier streets. You’ll never be rushed, and every lesson is adapted to your comfort level.

We have instructors across the city of Ottawa. If your schedule is flexible then we can have a certified instructor begin your in-car driving lessons within few days
Typical road test appointment for G2 or G drivers license in Ottawa take between 1.5hr to 2hrs. If you are renting the instructor car for that test, then expect an additional hour of test preparation with the instructor.
Absolutely! You qualify to take the G1 written test only. Then you must wait 1 year before writing your G2 driving test.

For BDE packages, in car lessons start after completing the virtual classroom. For other courses, it can be started immediately as long as you hold G1 license.
The MTO BDE Basic package consist of 5 in-car lessons each lasting for 2 hours. Depending on your driving progress the driving instructor may change the in-car lesson schedule or recommend additional hours
The instructor will first assess your driving skill level and your comfort in driving a vehicle. Our instructors are experiencing MTO certified driving instructors. They do understand different students learn at different pace and will greatly accommodate your needs.
You will receive instructions to register in the online classroom within 24hrs for signing up to any of our BDE packages.
You have 1-Year to complete the online BDE course and 10 hours driving course.
You must do the online course first then the practical course. You must have a G1 license before starting the in-car lesson
The MTO requires BDE course students to start their lesson after completing their online/in-class theory. After you have completed the theory part, you can start the driving lessons in Ottawa. We have instructors available to fit your schedule.
If you want to have the full experience with everything taking care of (including booking your G2 test and having the instructor car for the test) then the BDE Comprehensive is the best option. Most our students are ready to drive safely on Ottawa roads and pass the test after completing their 10hrs BDE course.
The instructor will assist in booking your driving test plus you the student will receive 1 hour driving lesson on their test day in order to prepare them for the test. The student will use the driving school car with our roof sign on the test. The instructor will offer free pickup/dropoff on the test day.
First of all, your will be provided with a 1hr lesson before your test. This will help you brush up on your driving skills. Second, our cars are kept well maintained, thus there is no chance of it being rejected by the examiner. Lastly, our cars have the roof sign which will alert other drivers on the road that you are doing a test or practising near the test area. It will also give the test examiner more confidence that you have taken lessons with a certified instructor before attempting your test. We find that students who use our cars for the test day perform much better than students who do not.
The online classes are completely self paced. You do it on your own, at your own schedule. You go through series of videos, quizzes, and presentations. After each module is completed , a small quiz needs to be done. There is no timetable or minimum requirement to follow. You must use a Desktop computer (Windows/Mac) or Laptop. Mobile phone will not work with the online classes.
